Counselling like Psychotherapy is the professional therapeutic relationship between client and counsellor. Confidentiality is paramount. Counselling is conducted through the open facilitation of the counsellor. The Counselling environment of the client and counsellor is developed through the therapeutic conditions of Respect, Empathy and Congruence. Counselling enables the client to explore their issues and to reach levels of understanding, self awareness, choices and options for their future. Counselling is clinically appropriate for life events such as divorce, separation, stress at work, relationship problems, bullying, bereavement, redundancy and many others.
